We donate to many of them, my husband and I, and we also sponsor Medo and Jokia, rescued elephants at the Elephant Nature Park, Thailand.
At the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Kenya we have adopted Shukuru, Sities, Meibai (orphaned elephants) and Maalim (orphaned Rhinoceros)..these guys all have their faces upon out fridge door!
This month we are adopting an orangutan in need…..it is very inexpensive.
It is also very satisfying being able to help from a distance and know that we are making a little difference…and now my sister also has an adoptee Olare from the Sheldrick Trust Kenya..while my other sister has adopted through Edgars Mission, here in Victoria.
In a society where we have so many distractions and indulgences, commodities and consumer waste….sponsoring or donating or volunteering, at these and other sites is a real way of connecting and contributing to an improvement of life and environment beyond our own.
